The Regional Organsing Committee ( ROC) is currently vising Lesotho as part of the preparations of the 9th edition of the Region 5 Youth Games to be hosted in Maseru in December 2020.

The purpose of the visit is to access the progress of the preparations plans that have been put in place by the government of Lesotho and to approve games delivery strategies plans and games marks and symbols.

The ROC Chair and CEO of AUSC Region 5 , Mr Stanley Mutoya  said ” We are here to access the state of preparation for the hosting of games  and sign-off the plans and games marks and symbols so that the LOC can start the process of raising awareness and marketing the games.. In our first visit, we came to established if the government was committed and willing to host the games. We have now established that the Lesotho government is willing to host the games so we are here to review the plans of hosting the games and approve so that work can start”

The ROC will spend three days to access all plans portfolio committees; Infrastructure, Technical, Games Village, Transport, Accreditation, Catering, Marketing and Mobilization, Security, Finance, Legal and Operations.
