Tee-ing the Regional Annual Sports Awards off in true sportsman spirit
24th May 2025What an incredibly heartwarming start to the RASA build-up! This morning, 24 May 2025, all the Athlete nominees from our 10 member countries took a break from their rigorous schedules to visit the Chinyaradi Home right here in Harare, Zimbabwe.
It was truly inspiring to see these incredible athletes engaging with the resident mothers and fathers, sharing smiles, and contributing to the community that supports them. Their dedication extends far beyond the track and field, demonstrating the true spirit of sportsmanship and social responsibility. This visit was a powerful reminder that our athletes are not just champions in their respective disciplines, but also champions of humanity.

Following this touching community initiative, the athletes are now preparing for the much-anticipated RASA Awards. Before having the Awards all the Athletes gathered in Forum where key speakers including the Honorable Minister Sanet Steenkamp from Namibia graced the athletes with her presence and delivered a keynote address. David Simba, Robert Musauki and Marlene Gadzirai also made presentations on Building a Personal Brand, Managing Success and Failure, From the Courts to the Podium respectively. It was an insightful discussions and valuable perspectives from the athletes questions.
